Plain-language answers to questions about your privacy, your data, and your rights when using myLBC. For the full legal details, see our Privacy Notice.
Federal law (the Bank Secrecy Act and Customer Identification Program rules) requires us to verify your identity before we can process money remittance transactions. Your SSN is used only for identity verification, tax reporting, and fraud prevention — never for marketing. It is encrypted and accessible only to authorized compliance staff.

We also share data with regulators and law enforcement when required by law (e.g., FinCEN, IRS, state financial regulators).
If we experience a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable breach notification laws.
The easiest way is from inside the app: Profile → Account → Close My Profile. Or email privacy@lbcusa.net with the subject line "Close My Profile."
When you close your account, we delete most of your data right away. We are required by law to retain transaction records and certain identity records for 5 years — these are moved to restricted storage accessible only to compliance staff, then deleted when the retention period expires.
See our Close My Profile page for full details.
You will still receive transactional and security messages (receipts, fraud alerts) — these are necessary while your account is open.
Depending on your state, you have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and port your data; opt out of marketing and of any sale or sharing (we don't do either); limit use of sensitive data; and not be discriminated against. To exercise any right, email privacy@lbcusa.net. We respond within 45 days.
Contact us immediately:
We will lock your account, investigate, and help you reverse any unauthorized transactions where possible. The sooner you report it, the more we can do.
If funds have not yet been picked up or deposited, you may have the right to cancel within 30 minutes of authorizing. Call 800-338-5424 or email fraud@lbcusa.net immediately.
If funds have already been received, recovery is much harder. We will do what we can, including freezing future transactions to that recipient. Also report the fraud to your local police and to reportfraud.ftc.gov.
Money remittance is a regulated activity. We are currently licensed only in California, Virginia, Oregon, Hawaii, Washington, New Jersey, and Nevada. We use a service called ipstack to determine the approximate state associated with your IP address. If your IP address appears to be outside our licensed states, you will not be able to initiate a remittance transfer.
IP geolocation is not always perfectly accurate. If you are in a licensed state and being incorrectly blocked, try the following:
Note: using a VPN or proxy to access the Services from an unlicensed state is a violation of our User Agreement.
