Close My Profile

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

You can close your myLBC account and request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your data when you do.

Closing your profile is permanent After closure you cannot recover your account, transaction history, or saved recipients. If you may use the Services again later, consider keeping your account open.

1Two Ways to Close Your Profile

Option 1 — In the App (Recommended)
  1. Open myLBC and sign in
  2. Go to Profile → Account → Close My Profile
  3. Read the information shown, then confirm
  4. You will receive a confirmation email

Most requests complete within 24–72 hours, subject to identity verification and any pending transactions.

Option 2 — By Email

Email privacy@lbcusa.net with subject line "Close My Profile" and include: your full name, account email, registered phone number, and whether you would like a copy of your personal data before closure. We will verify your identity — allow up to 10 business days.

Both options apply to all myLBC accounts, including those created using Facebook Login. We will remove the link between your Facebook account and myLBC upon closure.

  • Account profile: name, email, phone, address, date of birth (except where required by law)
  • Marketing preferences and communication history
  • Saved recipient address book entries
  • Customer support conversations older than three years
  • Device identifiers and diagnostic data
  • Push notification tokens
  • The link between your Facebook account and myLBC (if applicable)
  • Biometric data captured during identity verification (deleted within 1 year of verification, unless subject to an ongoing investigation)
Data We Are Required by Law to Retain
Legal Retention Requirements As a registered Money Services Business with FinCEN and a licensed money transmitter in 7 states, federal and state law require us to retain certain records even after account closure. Retained data is moved to restricted-access storage. Only authorized compliance personnel can access it, and it is used only for legally required purposes (regulator inquiries, tax reporting, legal claims). It is securely deleted when the retention period expires.

4Pending Transactions

If you have pending transactions when you request closure, we will complete remittances already authorized and awaiting pickup or deposit, complete cargo shipments already in transit, and allow you to cancel any unauthorized transactions per your Regulation E rights (see User Agreement §8). Your profile will be closed after all pending transactions are resolved, and you will receive a separate confirmation email.
