Close My Profile
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
You can close your myLBC account and request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your data when you do.
Closing your profile is permanent
After closure you cannot recover your account, transaction history, or saved recipients. If you may use the Services again later, consider keeping your account open.
1Two Ways to Close Your Profile
Option 1 — In the App (Recommended)
- Open myLBC and sign in
- Go to Profile → Account → Close My Profile
- Read the information shown, then confirm
- You will receive a confirmation email
Most requests complete within 24–72 hours, subject to identity verification and any pending transactions.
Option 2 — By Email
Email privacy@lbcusa.net with subject line "Close My Profile" and include: your full name, account email, registered phone number, and whether you would like a copy of your personal data before closure. We will verify your identity — allow up to 10 business days.
Both options apply to all myLBC accounts, including those created using Facebook Login. We will remove the link between your Facebook account and myLBC upon closure.
2Before You Close
- Download your transaction receipts. Tap any past transaction and select "Download Receipt." After closure you can no longer access transaction history.
- Complete any pending transactions. See Section 4.
- Cancel any scheduled transfers you no longer want.
- Note your cargo reference numbers for any shipments still in transit.
3What Happens to Your Data
Data We Delete or Anonymize
- Account profile: name, email, phone, address, date of birth (except where required by law)
- Marketing preferences and communication history
- Saved recipient address book entries
- Customer support conversations older than three years
- Device identifiers and diagnostic data
- Push notification tokens
- The link between your Facebook account and myLBC (if applicable)
- Biometric data captured during identity verification (deleted within 1 year of verification, unless subject to an ongoing investigation)
Data We Are Required by Law to Retain
Legal Retention Requirements
As a registered Money Services Business with FinCEN and a licensed money transmitter in 7 states, federal and state law require us to retain certain records even after account closure. Retained data is moved to restricted-access storage. Only authorized compliance personnel can access it, and it is used only for legally required purposes (regulator inquiries, tax reporting, legal claims). It is securely deleted when the retention period expires.
| Record type | Retention period | Legal basis |
| Money remittance transaction records | 5 years from transaction date | 31 CFR § 1010.430 (BSA); state MTL laws |
| Cargo shipment transaction records | 5 years from transaction date | IRC § 6001 |
| Customer Identification Program (CIP) records | 5 years after account closure | 31 CFR § 1022.220 (USA PATRIOT Act) |
| Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and supporting records | 5 years from filing | 31 CFR § 1022.320 |
| Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and supporting records | 5 years from filing | 31 CFR § 1010.306 |
| Wire transfer records (Travel Rule) | 5 years from transaction | 31 CFR § 1010.410 |
4Pending Transactions
If you have pending transactions when you request closure, we will complete remittances already authorized and awaiting pickup or deposit, complete cargo shipments already in transit, and allow you to cancel any unauthorized transactions per your Regulation E rights (see User Agreement §8). Your profile will be closed after all pending transactions are resolved, and you will receive a separate confirmation email.
5Processing Time
- In-app closure: 24–72 hours, plus time to resolve pending transactions
- Email closure request: Up to 10 business days for identity verification, plus pending transaction time
- Total processing time: Up to 30 days from your request, unless a longer period is required (for example, if your account is under regulatory review)
6After Closure
- You can no longer sign in to myLBC
- You can no longer access transaction history or receipts
- You will not receive further marketing communications
- You may still receive transaction-related communications for transactions that completed before closure
- You may create a new myLBC account in the future, but will need to complete identity verification again
7Closing Due to a Problem
If you are closing because of unauthorized activity, a dispute, or a complaint, please let us know — we may be able to help resolve it before closure.
